What's your favorite Wallace video?
Any that show the doubters out there what a ''Pit Bull" truely is!!!
Have you met Wallace in person?
No, but would love to!!! Live to far away in Kiwi land (NZ)
About Me:
Proud owner of a beautiful girl "Ratty" a rescued APBT
About "Ratty":
She was left with me for one week back in Nov 2002 while her owner (a dog "man") looked for a new home for his 5 APBT's who lived chained to trees in a paddock by the beach. (She would have been around 27pounds & 26 months old you couldn't even tell what colour her coat truely was. Nor could you carry food to her as she was so used to fighting for her share she would nearly take your hand off!) He returned 8 weeks later to take her back (he'd not left me with any food for her or funds to sort out her health (eg fleas, worming or vaccinations which I did at my own expense) ) & she point blank refused to go with him!! He got the shock of his life but I gained the best friend I could ever have asked for. Even though I didn't know anything about the breed but what the media portrayed them to be which wasn't nice I fell in love with her & it only took a couple of days for that to happen. In 2003 APBT's were included in NZ "Menacing Dog" Laws along with 3 other breeds, gee I hate BSL! In 2004/05 my dog was assessed by dog control officers & she failed the Pitbull test (scored 22 out 0f 66) they told me as far they were concerned she was a Whippet (her nose is to long, her eyes aren't round enough, she doesn't have enough muscles, her chest is not deep enough, her tummy tuck is to high, she's to small, she's not aggressive enough & at the time of the assessment she was playing with my parents 60kg 10 year old Lab who was sitting on her holding her by the throat. As far as the DC officer was concerned no APBT would let another dog do that to it. They obviously haven't seen play time at our house!!!). Not bad for a pedigree (Guess it was a help that she is the runt of a runt!!) Because of that assessment my little APBT doesn't have to be muzzled in public like all the other APBT's here in NZ so I guess that is a bonus. Just like she is!

What Animal Do I Speak Of? by Patty Letawsky

I found this on an web site promoting Positive Images Of Pitbulls and loved it, Very Apt! THEIR LOVE IS LIKE NO OTHER; THEIR HEART IS PURE AS GOLD. YET WHILE GOING ON A FRIENDLY WALK, THEY'RE FACED WITH STARES OF COLD. THEY'RE SO VERY CLOSE TO HUMAN, IN HOW THEY ACT AND WHAT THEY DO. UNLESS YOU'VE KNOWN THEIR DEVOTED LOVE, IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO EXPLAIN TO YOU. THEY ARE GREATLY MORE MISUNDERSTOOD, THEN ANY OTHER BREED. WE TEND TO PUNISH THIS LOYAL DOG, INSTEAD OF MANKINDS DEEDS. THEY'RE AL Continue

Hello Pixi,
Thanks for complement, I see Ratty is a rescue also, most excellent, I really liked the bit about not wanting to go back with the former owner, that's priceless. And assesed as a Whippet no less. Did those folks have sly grin on their face when they said that? That, as we say here in Texas, is a real knee slapper.
lovely place Kiwi Land, I had the good fortune to make a whirl wind tour of two nights and a day in Auckland back in '73 when my Navy P-3 squadron sent a crew home via Sydney, Auckland and Pago Pago. New Zealand is a beautiful country and has equally fine people. I had a wonderful time.
Ah, dinner is on, I'll talk later.
Best regards,
Marcus Hill

Hey, yeah thats what I thought, not enought southeners here! Im not an Ocker though, I just live here now, I actually hate Oi Oi Oi with a passion lol, dunno why I even said it ;)
Amstaff's arent under the same law apart from NSW (sydney). If you have papers that distinguish your pet being a Amstaff then its considered a pedigree show dog breed, an Amstaff without pedigree papers is considered a Pitbull ( ie: not considered an Amstaff at all). Im in Melbourne and we havent banned pitbulls like in NSW, you just have to have them secured, leashed and muzzled (just, is that all..)
Take it easy!

Wow, I thought I had the sleepiest pit bull ever, but Ratty gives my Daisy Mae a run for her money! Also, I love the story about the BSL assessment. People must laugh when you tell them that Ratty is officially a whippet!! That's a laugh!

They are the best dogs in the world as far as I'm concerned...and I will never be without one. I probably won't get another for a while but I think Thora is lonely sometimes and needs someone to rough house with and keep her company when I'm away.

Thats for sure...I know exactly what you mean. I found Thora at the shelter when she was 11 months and it was pretty much love at first sight so I took her home and that was the best decision that I ever made.
