When it rains, it pours! :-(

As if the sad drama with Trina weren't enough, we have now found out that one of our fosters from the South Holland dog fighting case, has to have extensive surgery. Following is the plea I sent out to some of the yahoo groups. If anyone wants to crosspost it anywhere, I just ask th… Continue

Trina-vet visit #2

Trina made another visit to the vet this evening and another liter of fluid drained from her abdomen. My vet said to see how she does through the night, call her first thing in the morning and she will contact the specialist. Trina didn't want to eat or drink today, which worried me enough to take her into the vet. While at the vet's office though, she ate an entire can of food and drank some water when we came home, so that is encouraging. Please continue to send good Mojo her way!

Trina

Trina is a Pit we have had in our rescue for a long time...over 3 years. I have no idea why she has never been adopted, because she is an angel! She loves everyone and everything and has a very calm demeaner. Trina is very sick right now and we spent Saturday night at the Emergency Vet. As I type this, I am waiting for my own vet to call me back so I can go meet her to look over the test results and X-rays from Saturday. I will probably then need to take her to a Cardiac Specialist. If anyone ca… Continue

Alison, that is so awesome that you have rescued your dog and turned into a therapy dog! What a great way to represent the breed!

We're all so proud of what you do!! I spread the word everywhere I go to STOP breeding and to rescue. My own Daisy Mae can be seen here http://www.dogster.com/dogs/354737 . As a former bait dog turned certified therapy dog, she helps me open people's minds to the truth about pit bulls every day. Keep up the good work!

We are going to be adding sections to include Rescue Groups and so forth. If you or any other rescue groups come aboard, you will be rewarded a free Rescue Group membership due to all the wonderful things you’re doing for these bully breeds. In Illinois, you have to test with the Dept of Ag. They do it once a year and you have to have a shelter that is state licensed sponsor you. For the most part, it is an unpaid position.

Linda, I left you condolences on Wallace's page. When you are able, I am also interested in Vegas and Libby's question about how one comes to be a humane investigator?

Hi Linda,
I hope this question won't seem 2 dumb but I would like to know a bit more about being a Humane Investigator. I mean, I got the idea but I would love to know what exactly do you have to go through... Thanks for your time.
