Patty, I LOVED IT!!!!!!! It actually got me choked up...laughing and getting misty at the same time...at what a good boy he was, how well people GOT IT back then, that these guys weren't feared, but rather included and loved and worked with!

I just got in from walking Oscar and Gunny....we stopped by a neighbor's to dig up some flowers for transplants. Oscar and Gunny were each tied to a post at the bottom of the steps, laying quietly, while I worked in the flower beds on either side of them. The door opened, their "cousin" Sandi the dog came FLYING down the steps and was all over them...so happy to see her boys. Total surprise and they could have cared less. Then out came my friend and her 1 year old (human) baby. Oscar and Gunny LOVE that baby! I am very mindful when she comes over to pet them, as they could easily knock her over when they lick her, but for the most part, they just laid there like statues, wagging their tails as she toddled all around them, within a foot or so, pointing and saying "dog" or "flower" about a million times. The boys kept a close eye on her, and didn't flinch even as she toddled pretty fast , and squealed. A couple times she brought a "flower" to the "dog" and tried to get them to sniff it! Didn't work, since they took that as an invitation to lick HER, not smell the FLOWER! : )
