I am a former dog trainer i trained over 7000 dogs, i had pitbulls in the late eighties and have seen them beeing banned in my country. Now Pitbulls again are legal in the Netherlands. i started the Bull and Terrier Sporting and Social Club Holland. a club that promotes and shows the great pleasure of an active lifestyle with dogs of these types.
i agree. It's nearly impossible to look around my country (U.S.) and see the country that existed even 10 years ago or less. I never paid much attention to politics and or the legislative branch of government until i was in my early 20's. Now that my eyes are open i'm seeing the possibility of having to fight for my right to own a specific breed in very near future in my state of Arkansas (that is if they follow suit) Not to mention HR 45 bill that is being pushed as we speak to put extremely stiff guidelines on firearm owvership (which only effects the innocent law abiding citizen, the criminal will not comply). This country is beginning to spiral down into something that it never was. But hey, good news, my dog is legal now and he's young with a big future not yet written. still not losing hope. If you have any info on disc dog training or who to turn to let me know. Thanks for your comments on Bo. And i congratulate you on your accomplishments over the years with dog training. You are a rare individual in this world.
Hi Mats thank you for your reply
indeed this is the difficulty of a forum board, as the emotions can not be seen and there is only just words in writing. A lot of things can go wrong in the communication. i am happy we are adults enough to get a focus back to friendship and dogs.
Yes that is a problem with forums. But as long as we are adults enough as you say to discuss what we think its no problem;)
The dog in my Avatar is Quinlent Outsider bred by me in the picture he's about nine years old. His dad came from South Africa from Timanlee kennels but his line is going back to Eng Ch. Kaluki Duke and to follow that back he is an R line based dog as is his mum filled with a lot of infuence from that same line. they are longer on the leg more tenacious and very loyal towards Humans and Children in particular.
Ok, i dont know anything about the lines from South Africa. We are going for performance and are going to get old fine breeding lines but that i think will be dogs from Sweden and USA. Performance is what counts of course but i want a little bigger bulldogs. My Milo has good drive and strength for being an Amstaff, he on the Avatar. He is only 24 months old and its beginning to come now. We do Weight Pull with him at home, springpole and flirtpole. I train him with the bite pillow too. He comes on very hard, is strong and has a good bite. His mother was a exellent schutzhund. I would like to get in to a grop that train schutzhund but thats hard.. Amstaff and Pit Bull are no breeds they like in the dog clubs. We are discriminated. We will se what happens when we move from north of Sweden down to the southest part, we are thinking about Gotland. Anyway we are going to have the breed or breeds we like even if its not a "recogniced breed" by the clubs.. We are going to have Chinaman, redboy-jocko and i have found a big chinaman male a Gr Ch that has a pit weight of 34kg. I think we will buy a female from that kennel when he has sired a big strong dame. That will be good for us. The dames he has have multichampions six generations back, at least two in every generation, often four.
He is just as old as my son Quinten and together they managed to win the annual springpole competition i am very proud of the lads you can imagine.
He as is his mother are behind almost all our present day breeding.
Tell me about how you compete in springpole, thats interesting.
His daughter is Quinlent Rigantona amsterdam winster europa siegerin BOB, Bundes siegerin BOB getting her dutch tile in a Row of three times BOB in a row on international dogshowshere in Holland.
I must ask what BOB is;)
Dog showing is not my thing but it is nice that your breeding is reckognised as typical by those who are focussed for looks. to me performance of my dogs is more important.
Once again i agree with you that performance is what counts even if i want size on them. But the gameness, the drive, the condition and the strength is important and the old lines must be preserved i think. When we look for instance at the breeding line our female is "Woodsforest" with a little woods its not much left of the APBT. The two year old male i have is my first dog so i did not know what to get at first. Milo was enough to start with to as first dog. I dont think anyone should go for a game dog as fist dog.
I organise a dogsport weekend the weekend of 6 to 8 march and people will be present from France, Belgium, UK, and Holland i'll stay in touch about all that we have done. we will try to make a movie for you tube in which we want to show the greatness of the pitted breeds when getting a modern function
we have also started Dog frisbee and i am getting a bigger fan disc after disc mate. But we will also do springpole, weight pull (new for us as it is illegal in Holland) kickbike racing, Lure racing, tug of war, jumping hangtime etc etc.
All in very good and friendly social atmosphere's
I would love to see that movie, its good advertising for the breed to put it on youtube too;)
I have several puppy requests from Sweden and Norway and exported allready several to Norway. I love the North of Europe and reckon it to be the last places to find silence
wel cheers for now please tell me about yer am staff 20 years ago i had Amstaff's and Pitbull's they all went back to Ruffian red rock of Harwynn.
Ruffian are good dogs, they come from Earl Tudors dogs. As far as in the fiftees they were game dogs. Tacoma Amstaffs from USA has Earl Tudors best dogs i have heard. He breeds only for performance. Earl Tudors dogs were Tacoma Amstaffs in as late as the seventies, 76 i think. They got a Gr Ch 16xW.
Milo is 75% White Rock, thats another good breeding line. The rest is Woodsforest and a little Woods. .
You can see a video of him weight pulling outside our house here. Its very amateur. We have no WP track. We will get that when we as soon as possible buy a farm in the southest of Sweden. Then we will have a indoor WP track, treadmill, springpole and horses. We have a lot of plans. Im just sorry i did not get dogs earlier in my life, but i have some years left;) Im 47 now and until four years ago i was mostly a bachelar and if you dont have time, you should not have dogs. However i have learned a lot from Milos kennel so its going very well for us i think with our dogs. As guard dogs we will have Boerboel females and/or American Bulldog females. As long as we have Milo we cant have more strong Males without separating them. He is very dominant. We are thinking about breeding later, but we dont know.. Its hard to get good buyers that take good care of the dogs. In that case it will be APBT with Amstaff papers. A sporting kennel. Big dogs with a lot of drive and with the guarding instincts Milo has. Hes nothing like a Pit Bull. Hes very protecting and territorial. His mother is the same way.
Here he is doing Weight Pull outside house. Six months not very seriousely training and we have no more weigths. We will get more weight, railway track and a bigger sled and a wagon when we move. Yesterday we trained him with weights in a Chevy Van Tyre, that worked. He sprinted fifty meters between us and aftrer that we increased the weights to up to 85 kg and let him pull between us at a distance of five meters. We will train him like that the rest of the winter and then put one tyre with rim with 60 kg steel weights in it, another tyre with rim on top of that one and fill it with weights. The rubber makes it heavy and he has to work hard the whole distance. Hes a strong boy. I think we have champion material there in a couple of years. We will see. Amstaffs can compete well on the WP tracks i have heard.
Hi Mats,
sorry i am just drawing parrallel's in behaviour. By no meaning generalising all individuals but at least those who make the rules in that country.
That your wife is from germany does not say anything about my intelligence does it?
As for what has happened since 1990 in my country has been terrible no doubt and for sure not me who want's to defent what has happened.
Can't you understand that thinking a German government can make one rule in this country has an interpretation from my side that you think we can't make or break or defent our own rules here in Holland! i want to tell you it will not happen the last time they could do that was 1945 perhaps you can follow the parallels of my thinking now i have explained and as my people where the first ones that died in the German gas chambers before the deportation of the jews even began You might understand my approach to there attitude in this matter. for me it is not about your wife but about rumours and as far as rumours go lets hope they will be no more then rumours
Have a nice evening
Marco
What i ment was that its not so intelligent or "smart" is maybe a better word to talk bad about germans to me. But i misunderstood you, thats ok. Sometimes when we write something it gets wrong. If we sat down and talked about it im sure there would be no misunderstandings.
Yes, what happend in your country with thed dogs was terrible. What happened in the second world war was terrible to and we must not forget it but dont think that they want to try to take over the world again either. Lets leave that behind us and be friends here and discuss dogs instead;) You have a very beutiful dog. What breeding line is he?
Hi Mats,
Well it is typical German to spread out elimination therms from that point of view they have not learned much since 1945.
It is not that there are no rules any more. The rules stayed pretty much the same but covers all dogs now.
And the Germans are the statistical most dangerous breed on the surface of this planet.
Cheers Marco
RAD is gone from your country. There are rumours about that you are going to have RAD again. That was what i was asking about. To drag the 2nd world war into this and say that all Germans are bad is not so smart when my fiance is from Germany. I did not get any answer to the question either.
One thing that you should think about is that Germany has never killed any dogs because of the race, they have not tortured them in shelters either that you people have. In your country they took dogs from families with children and tourists and killed them directly or returned the dog abused both physically and mentally.
Its very bad that you have the attitude you have. You are the first one that has been rude and unpolite here and i have spoken to a lot of people. This is a forum that is agains breed discrimination. You should think about what you are saying about people from other countries and not generalize in that way. If you do that you are not better then the people that wants to get the Pit Bull Terrier forbidden and a extinct race.
Hi and welcome. What a Beutiful and well built dog on the pic. Good job with starting that sporting club. Its time people can see how fine dogs this i. I heard about that BSL is gone now from Netherland, thats good. But we have heard from Germany that they want to have RAD in Nehterlands again. Is that true?
