my APBT fipped the first time she waded into a lake- sprang up a few feet and came twisting out of the water- think it was that one step that submerged her head freaked her (understandable) after that for the rest of the summer - (i live in MASS) ...
I think a " Good Dog Sit In" Is in call for! We could all do it around the states. Simple all gather and have a silent protest when he is released... All in silence, with well behaied dogs making a stand... I would get one started here in Florida.

They (APBTs) are somewhat welcome here. we live in the SW Arkansas/NE Texas area and there are quite a few people in all age groups that own APBT's. But at the same time it is one extreme or the other. It seems that people either like them or are afraid of them.Just like with politics and other things if people watch too much tv they will be exposed to media/government propaganda and form an opinion based on dog attacks that the news covers only when its a "Pit Bull". I was bitten by a cocker spaniel and needed stitches when i was a child but i don't recall that making the headlines. LOL
We'd love to feed a Barf diet. It just makes sense! Dogs shouldn't just eat dry kibble.. I've heard so many good things, and seen good outcomes.
so i'm guessing all yours eat a barf diet? They look great= so muscular!!!
But with 5 large breed dogs, and a pomeranian... it would be WAY to expensive..
I'm going to do some research on it- see what i can do for the future..
Thanks!
It makes a lot of sense. The dogs both look and feel better and problems that can come from wheat are gone. Those problems are fungus, allergies, skin problems, concentration problems. Plus that the fur gets more shiny and they pack on more muscles, especially when training. We train ours but not so much, that of course has given them more muscles but the food is important. Before we gave them frozen fresh food (thats not BARF but as close as it gets, we cant either afford barf before we have the farm we are going to buy) they did not increase in muscle mass. Milo came to a point where he just got more and more defined until he started to look like a gamedog in "pit condition". This we give them now is perfect for them.
Hey Kara -
From your photos it looks like you are making some real progress!! Awesome! Big Mama Jubilee passed her CGC and her Delta Therapy Dog test. Double bonus!!
Then to top it off she made her first real on the run with a jump Frisbee catch yesterday.
To get started with training I took about 7 classes at my local humane society in a year. Got friendly with the trainers, got my face known around the place and expressed an interest in wanting to learn more. The head trainer there is really great and she agrees to mentor a few students ... she is currently mentoring me and one other student. So we are assistant trainers in her classes. We help clients teach their dogs the basics and she gives us feedback on what we are doing. It has been such an awesome experience! She also puts on a one week Trainer's Academy in April and I am doing that with her as well.
Anyway just wanted to stop by and say hi - I have been a bit of a slacker keeping up with this site and I know you wrote to me a little while ago.
Take Care
