My pit-crew

I live in an area that has already put a ban on the pits in two counties--how do I stop this???? anyone with ideas please let me know--I have 5 rescued pits and three very young kids and I don't worry for a second about my kids with them--but up the road from me a little kid got 8 stitches from a beagle--I guess I just don't understand--I thought this was the land of the free--it makes me sick--any other breed is case by case basis--but for pits they all get screwed--this needs to STOP NOW it's… Continue

Torque completed his last obedience class in June and graduated with flying colours. His progress has been unbelievable. He is now muzzle-free wherever we go and I am totally prepared for any behaviours good or bad that I may have to deal with. My confidence in working with him and other problem dogs has skyrocketed and I haven't had any problems since a long time ago when I first started talking to you. I recently brought him to the vet for his annual vacc's where they have been keeping track of his behaviours. One of the vets that has been a vet for 20+ years gave me huge props for the progress that I have made with him and was very thankful to see that someone would take the time to work with Torque and his behaviours. I have been working with some of my friend's problem dogs with all of them being successful and I get asked all the time to go and help other friends ant their dogs. I have also been able to educate many people about pitbull myths which has been very rewarding to me. Because of Torque's progress we are now able to participate in agility classes which we start two days from now. I will let you know how that goes! Until then wish me luck and God bless.

I never grew up with animals and I promised myself it wouldn't be like that for my daughter which it isn't! haha! Second.....the dogs are ALL beautiful....love the dog in the trash can.....what a personality.....but Ellie! Wow! What a colour! Torque is actually doing really good with people lately.....I find he kind of picks and chooses who he likes which is a little scary because he's so unpredictable. But if ever i'm not sure I just muzzle him before introductions. Thank god i learned how to associate putting on a muzzle with affection( thank you Cesar Millan) because he sure didn't like it at first. This is a whole new learning process for me too that's why I'm so blessed with my trainer. He's passed two obiedience levels and on to his third next week. I probably will continue the classes for a long time for socialization purposes and for my educational purposes. And when he's better I am definitely looking into fostering. But first we have to do something about this ban. It is RIDICULOUS and very frustrating and upsetting.If they assume that all pitbulls are vicious then I'm assuming all judges are animal haters! Until then take care of yourself, your family and your pack!

I want the dogs that no one else wants. I wish there were more people like you.....We're under the Ontario BSL.....I coudn't hate something more. I can say I know about 20 pitbulls up here in our small town and not ONE is mean in any way shape or form. Unfortunately I was in an abusive relationship and my pit developed aggression towards men and dogs. I wasn't allowed to leave my house when he was a pup so he was never properly socialized. Thank God i'm out of there now! We are all under rehabilitation! But I have a ten month old and she steals his bone everyday....his only retaliation is stealing her cookies. But I mean....he may not like the outside world yet...although he is a very fast learner.....he is the most loving dog with my family and friends that I have ever seen. He's a big goofy dog! My trainer was sent to me from heaven. She is not breed specific at all as she is a major advocate herself and the owner of quite a few bullied breed dogs. She has been an absolute inspiration and we are all working together to educate the public. There are so many people that just don't have a clue. All they know about the pitbull breed is the myths.....it's really sad. But...one thing at a time! I can only imagine your vet bills....wow! haha...I thought mine were bad! Thank you so much for being a voice to the dogs that don't have one! Keep in touch!
