I'm sure Belle will be an awesome therapy dog! And Faith, ditto. She passed and mine will calm down when they look a person in the eyes. They see more than people sometimes. My dogs know if we are out playing and my RA is killing my knees. Week before last I couldn't do much but once a day, in the evening (cool) and for only about an hour. Rose would lay on her bed instead of on my legs. When they know I am hurting outside, they are much calmer. It wouldn't take much for Zoe to be an excellent therapy dog. I love that Leo (one of Vick's rescued dogs) is a therapy dog that sits with peopl while they get their chemo. He has a look in his eyes like "I been there, I know that look in your eyes." and they just eat him up because he just lays his head in their laps and gets all that loving that lightens their hearts. Better than any medicine I know of.

Hello
I am hoping to help Zoe become a therapy dog. At the moment she is still a little excitable, but did manage to pass her CGC just two weeks ago.

I think it is amazing that you are all getting out into our communities and showing the public the real pit bulls, that we never hear about in the news. Thumbs up to you all!

I would love to get Belle started as a therapy dog. She loves people so much.

Well, since I am never short on words, I guess I will start a discussion. I have RA (Rhuematoid Arthritis), Meniere's Disease and Fibromyalgia. I have a lot of pain, even with my meds. And my meds make me groggy and I can't concentrate well on anything. I can't be as active as I was so I save my energy for working with the pups. It makes me feel wonderful and useful again. I am still relatively young, 38, and all of this kind of hit me at once, yes, I have terrible luck. It was devastating to say the least. I have felt so useless! I have worked 2 and 3 jobs since I was 15. I have gave birth to three children and lost my second child 20 yrs ago this December. Axl stays outside and Rose stays in with me. She is wonderful. Dogs "just know things". She knows when I am hurting or having a bad day. Just her look, those eyes saying, "It's okay mom, I'm not leaving you alone", is enough to make my heart soar and my mood so much better. She makes every step I make and "watches" momma. She can't heal my illness, but attitude has a lot to do with it and in that department, she and Axl succeed wonderfully! And taking care of them makes me feel useful again. I work with dogs who have been abandoned or abused and that is more fulfilling than any job I have ever had except raising my sons. My youngest is 12 and getting very independent so I have empty nest syndrome going on, lol! But now I have two "people" who depend on me for their existence and I can't tell you how much that helps me. Mind and heart! I am in the process of getting into training for sporting competitions and also as therapy dogs. I would like to take them to the Nursing homes here everyonce in a while. I see the residents light up when an animal or child is brought in. I want to be a part of that. Well, that's about it for today. I could go on and on but the therapy I get alone from my pets is priceless. No amount of medicine makes me feel as good as they do!
