Responsible Pit Bull owners need to allow the public to see that Pit Bulls are not the vicious killers that are portrayed in the media. A fine example is my wife, who was terrified of Pit Bulls, and she changed her mind, and commented that she would only have Pit Bull dogs after we rescued Blanca in November.
The public lives with the misnomer that Pit Bulls are vicious killers just waiting to attack the first animal or human that they see.
This is all a result of irresponsible journalism that is done on a daily basis, while we the owners do not protest to the papers and Television stations that this is prejudicial and slanderous to Pit Bulls and their owners, and reminding them that Pit Bulls are used as service dogs and also, many city, county, state, and federal agencies employ the Pit Bull, because of their high energy levels, allowing them to work harder and longer than other breeds of dogs.

hi all.. very happy to join this group.. ! My group.. "the "Pit Bull" Co-op is hosting a Pit Bull Awareness Day walk on October 25th.. this will be our second one!
Last year was amazing.. We dress the dogs up too.. they always look great.. Rocky will be a bat this year!
We make quite an impression in Toronto "Onscrio" walking with our muzzled pups, but mostly people respond positively..

I think that is a great idea and will be right there with you! Most things have to start small and gain attention in surrounding areas. Everyone that knows Kamo's name immediately knows that he is a friendly, loving dog! Count us in! Thanks! And thanks for the comment about Shaft. This is a hate free zone, no dissing other peoples pets. Petty.
